China's high-end equipment manufacturing sector has recently achieved significant progress. China Nonferrous Metals Industry Pump Co., Ltd. has successfully completed the trial operation of the first DGMB400/18A triplex single-acting diaphragm pump designed for a nickel-cobalt hydrometallurgical project in Indonesia. The project imposes extremely stringent requirements on flow rate, pressure, and reliability for slurry transport equipment, and such ultra-large diaphragm pumps have long been dominated by a few European and American companies.
This successful trial run marks a breakthrough in the core technology of domestic diaphragm pumps. The pump achieves synchronous breakthroughs of high flow and high pressure, with a rated flow of 400 m³/h and a rated pressure of 18 MPa powered by a 2500 kW drive. The R&D team significantly improved the equipment's adaptability to complex media through optimized flow channel design and two-stage pulsation suppression technology, effectively reducing energy consumption and wear during transport. Based on its technological strength, the company secured a contract for 12 units of this diaphragm pump model for the Indonesian project in a single order, breaking the long-term monopoly in the international market. This equipment will serve the tailings treatment and long-distance transport needs of the Indonesian nickel mining project, contributing to green mining initiatives.
